In 2018, I resigned from my career as an OB/GYN and started my own Obesity Medicine practice.
At the time, the word entrepreneur wasn’t a part of my vocabulary. I just knew, without any doubt, that I was meant to be practicing Obesity Medicine.
It wasn’t completely reckless. I spent a year and a half saving up money, reading everything I could get my hands on about how to start a business, and working backward from what I saw as the perfect model to treat obesity under the umbrella of health insurance. Everyone thought I was crazy. My OB/GYN practice was packed. I had job security. I was a single mom with three small kids. But I wasn’t happy. And the rest is history!
